Kiteboarding Spots:




Keswick Kiting on Cook's Bay, Lake Simcoe



Location: Keswick, Ontario. Main intersection at Leslie St. and Morton Ave (for water access). On Ways Bay Dr. or Glenwoods Ave. (for Snowkiting).


Kiting activities: Water kite boarding, snow kiting, windsurfing.


Rider skills/level: Beginner with instructor, intermediate, advanced must be able to launch form water and have self rescue experience.


Water conditions: Flat and shallow for about 50m, cooler in spring and fall, but warmer in summer. Gets weedy by fall. There are some rocks and zebra muscles on the bottom, so please have protective footwear.


Launch: There is a small area for kite setup and also killer willow trees that has a few kites landed on. Must get assisted launch or self-launch from water.


Wind direction: The best winds for this spot are SW, W, NW. N - can be gusty. Winds, such as SE, E, S, NE are very gusty and can only be used for winter snowkiting. Watch the wind forecast.

Parking: Free parking along the road and follow signs and restrictions. Local police have ticketed cars parked over 2hrs.
